We All Scream For Ice Cream: Banana Split Smoothie

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

I made the kids a special treat last night – banana split smoothies – I’ll admit they are not the healthiest smoothies, but they are so very delicious.

If you’re craving a banana split, why not bring the split to the smoothie?  banana split

Banana Split Smoothie

  • 1/4 cup of orange juice
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 8 oz. crushed pineapple, drained
  • ½ cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tbs of agave or honey
  • 3 tbs of yogurt
  • 3 heaped tbs of vanilla ice cream
  • ***Optional garnish: whipped cream, chocolate syrup

Blend all ingredients with the exception of the garnish until smooth.  Pour into large glasses and then add the garnish.

Watermelon Cooler: Perfect Summer Smoothie

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Nothing says summer quite like a big slice of fresh watermelon.  And of course, with all the watermelon lying around the kitchen, I couldn’t help but blend it up!

  • 1 – 8 ounce lemon or vanilla yogurt watermelon
  • 3 cups cubed, seeded watermelon
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon honey or fruit jam (strawberry or raspberry work well)
  • Ice

Blend all ingredients until smooth.
